51st International Conference on Plasma Physics and Controlled Thermonuclear Fusion

From March 18 to 22, 2024, Zvenigorod (Moscow Region) hosted one of the largest scientific forums – the 51st International Conference on Plasma Physics and Controlled Thermonuclear Fusion.

The event was organized by the Rosatom State Corporation, the Kurchatov Institute Research Center, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the PLASMAIOFAN Scientific and Technological Center, the MEPhI National Research Nuclear University, the Lomonosov Moscow State University, and others.

About 200 leading scientists from Russia and CIS countries took part in the conference in person alone, and the same number connected remotely. A total of about 250 reports were presented.

The head of the Polar Geophysical Institute took part in the conference in person. laboratories of the Arctic atmosphere Kirillov A.S. In his oral report “Kinetic processes involving electronically excited molecular nitrogen in the medium atmospheres of Titan and Earth”, he spoke about the processes of formation of electronically excited molecular nitrogen at altitudes of the medium atmospheres of Titan and Earth under the action of galactic cosmic rays and relativistic particles and the role of nitrogen in chemical and radiative processes in the atmospheres of these planets.
