15th International Moscow Symposium on Solar System Research
The 15th International Moscow Symposium on Solar System Research was held at the Space Research Institute from October 21 to 25. More than 150 scientists from Russia and other countries took part in the annual meeting of specialists in the study of planets. Separate sections of the symposium were devoted to the study of Mars, Venus, giant planets, as well as small bodies of the Solar system. Reports were presented on the results of the ExoMars, Mars Express, BepiColombo missions, as well as on the promising Venus-D project. On the final day, the topics of the reports were exoplanets, that is, planetary systems of other stars, as well as problems of astrobiology.
>The head of the Polar Geophysical Institute took part in the conference. Laboratory of the Arctic atmosphere Kirillov A.S. In his oral report “Investigation of the role of metastable nitrogen in collisional molecular processes in the upper and middle atmosphere of Titan”, he spoke about the need to take into account collisional molecular processes in the upper atmosphere of Titan when interpreting the results of measuring infrared radiation from a gas recorded on a Very Large Telescope (Chile). Also in his report, he noted the important role of metastable molecular nitrogen in the formation of chemically active radicals at altitudes of organic haze formation in the atmosphere of Titan.
