Scientific Coordination Session “Research of non-ideal plasma”
From December 4 to 5, the Joint Institute of High Temperatures of the Russian Academy of Sciences hosted a Scientific Coordination Session “Research of non-ideal plasma”. The session was attended by several dozen scientists from Russia, Germany, and Kazakhstan. The topics of the Session included such areas as thermodynamic properties and the equation of state of non-ideal plasma, portable and optical properties, approaches for modeling the properties of highly non-ideal plasma, applications of non-ideal plasma in biology and medicine, in astrophysical research, etc.
The Head of the Polar Geophysical Institute took part in the Session. In his oral report, Kirillov A.S. spoke about the study of the kinetics of electronically excited molecular nitrogen in the atmospheres of Earth, Titan, Triton, and Pluto. Also in the report, he drew the attention of the Session participants to the need for laboratory experimental measurements of the interaction rates of electronically excited molecular nitrogen with nitrogen isotope molecules and with hydrocarbon molecules of the CNU.
