17th International Conference AMPL-2025 “Pulsed lasers and laser applications”

From September 15 to 19, Tomsk hosted the 17th International AMPL-2025 Pulsed lasers and laser Applications Conference (Institute of Atmospheric Optics SB RAS) and the 11th APR-2025 International Conference Actual Problems of Radiophysics (Tomsk State University). The conferences were attended by scientists from many cities of Russia and from other countries – Germany, China, Azerbaijan, Serbia, USA, Israel, Kazakhstan.

The Head of the Polar Geophysical Institute participated in the conferences. laboratory of the Arctic atmosphere Kirillov A.S.

In his oral reports, he presented the results of experimental and theoretical studies of kinetic and radiative processes occurring at the luminescence heights of red sprites between thunderclouds and the Earth’s ionosphere and in laboratory pulse discharges, which are conducted jointly with colleagues from the Institute of High-Current Electronics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The authors noted the important role of the results of such studies in studying the physical and chemical processes occurring in the atmospheres of the planets of the Solar system when exposed to charged particles.
