The joint work of the groups from PGI and State Nature Reserve Pasvik related to the camera installation in the Nature Reserve Information Centre in Rajakoski

On August, 2021, the working group from Polar Geophysical Institute came in Rajakoski to install the sky observation camera in the State Nature Reserve Pasvik Information Centre within the framework of the international project “Aurora Borealis Monitoring System for the Needs of the Tourism Business” which is being implemented under the Kolarctic CBC Program 2014-2020.

The camera was connected to the internal server of the State Nature Reserve Pasvik and tested successfully. The engineering personnel of the State Nature Reserve Pasvik was instructed on the correct exploitation of the camera.

The State Nature Reserve Pasvik is the first location where such the camera has installed within the framework of the project, followed by Norway and Finland. The next stage of activities for the project partner State Nature Reserve Pasvik is provision of direct online broadcasting of the picture from the installed camera on their website so that to make this option available for every user.
