MSTU and PGI discussed options for cooperation in the field of training
Last Friday, September 4, 2020, a working meeting of the MSTU management with the director of the Polar Geophysical Institute Boris Vladimirovich Kozelov took place.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of interaction in relation to training, retraining and advanced training of personnel.
Graduates of MSTU are already successfully working at the Polar Geophysical Institute. But the plans of the Murmansk State Technical University to expand the range of training areas at all levels (bachelor’s, master’s and postgraduate studies), providing the region with specialists that are in dire need of not only PGI, but also other research organizations and production enterprises of the Murmansk region.
Cooperation between MSTU and PGI will allow university students to undergo various kinds of practice at the Polar Geophysical Institute, and in the future – to find a job and get the opportunity to prove themselves in research activities. Also in the plans is to actively involve PGI employees for direct participation in the training of young specialists: to conduct courses and give lectures at the university.
The working meeting was attended by Rector of the Murmansk State Technical University S. R. Derkach, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development of MSTU S. Yu. Dubrovin, Assistant Director for International Cooperation of PGI E. I. Skiotis.
